OH MY FACE!!!!!!

The Bottom Line ------ ------- ------- ------ ------ -----

Lets talk about Pores. Is there really a cure for minimizing large pores? In my opinion I don't feel that there is. I think that there may be help for those who want to help stop pores from enlarging any more than what they already are.

I feel that once the pore is enlarged the only thing you can do with it is hide them to SOME extent by accentuating other parts of the face. One thing I see that I don't like is when people apply their foundation and cake a few layers of powder on top of that to fill the holes in. I think that this is more damaging. With the dirt and pollutants already in the air contaminating your face mixed with the sebum or natural oils that your body produces, pushing all of this powder into the pore actually makes the pores bigger. This oil, dirt, make up combination starts to harden.

While pore reducing products seem to work I only believe that they give the feeling of a tighter face. If you were on a budget and you wanted to buy one important product for your face I would recommend a good facial cleaner and an inexpensive battery powered toothbrush. I use the toothbrush to scrub my face. It is wonderful.

I would then recommend having a facial done to remove all of the build up that comes from make up and also smoking. If regular facials seem to be too costly then at least every six months. I really feel that a clean face will help pores from enlarging.

I don't think that a lot of powder helps. I would keep the powder to a minimum as you can see the enlarged pores anyway. I think that they look worse with a heavy application of powder. Never go to sleep without washing the makeup off your face. Also, I never wash my face while in the shower. I use a conditioner on my hair. Conditioners contain a lot of wax. I don't want this wax left on my face. So I always wash my face after my shower.

I have an oily complexion with a few enlarged pores. I also pin my bangs up when I am at home. The oil in your hair rubs against your face and that's when I find I have pimples. Have you ever noticed this problem area on your forehead? Pinning the bangs back will help. I also use regular peroxide and a cotton ball. I dab peroxide on the oily spots on my face. It acts as a toner as well as a cleaner.

Never, never, never try to extract or "pop" your pimples. This can actually spread infection to other parts of your face and leave scars. Always get them professionally extracted. Facials are wonderful.

I feel that a foundation and maybe a light powder would be better. I would concentrate on other parts of the face such as the hair, lips, and eyes. Play up these features to your advantage. Your large pores will be less catching to the eye.

If you have extra money in the budget to try these pore reducers out then that is fine. Just know that if your face is not free from dirt then I think you are wasting your money. If pore reducing products make you FEEL like your pores are reduced, or give you a short term tightness then go for it. It is all about how you feel about yourself anyway. I hope I have been helpful.
