The Garmin 48 is a handy piece of equipment. I have used the Garmin GPS for everything from hiking to fishing. The Garmin 48 GPS is light, durable, and relatively easy to use. It suits all my navigational needs.
For fishing it can be used to mark hot spots that you might find and it allows you to return to the same spot later. I have found the Garmin GPS most useful at the end of a long day fishing. In dark conditions on large lakes it is extremely difficult to find you way back and very easy to get lost. With a backlit display the Garmin maps the exact route back to your starting point.
Some of the disadvantages of the GPS are that it requires you to have it on during travel. This uses the batteries pretty quickly. It also may take a little time to acquire the satellites needed for navigation. Many of these disadvantages also occur in other brands of GPS equipment as well.
The GPS can mark dozens of spots. It also allows you to return to where you have been before which is essential is so many outdoor activities. The GPS can also tell you exact time, the speed and direction you are moving, sunrise and set, heading, and your coordinates. I recommend this product for the outdoor enthusiast.
