If you are looking for a bow rider, a ski-boat, a cruiser, stop reading right now. Cape Horn boats, built on the Florida Gulf coast, are designed for one thing: fishing. As a matter of fact, this Milton, Florida based company builds only one style of...

Cape Horn Bay boat (Reply to this comment)
by wconrad
I bought a 22' Cape Horn Bay Series last year. It is powered with a 175 Yamaha. Top speed is 45+ on the GPS with two on board, full tank (80 gal.) and fishing gear.

I shopped very seriously for a fishing boat for about 6 months before buying the Cape Horn. We were looking specifically for a fishing boat and were down to 2 or 3 when I discovered the Cape. It is a well built hull with the most floor space and storage of any boat in its class.

The boat has exceeded my expectations in ease of handling and fishability. The large oval rear bait well with circulating pump keeps bait alive all day. Two large fish boxes/ ice chests can double as storage. The large storage space under the console holds food, life jackets, and spare gear. Tackle boxes are kept in the rear box but are rarely used because of the built-in box in the console.

As they claim, there are no extra gadgets other than needed for fishing. The wash down pump is a nice addition, as well as an extra battery for accessories, with it's own charging lead.

I would highly recommend the Cape Horn 22 to anyone looking for a great fishing platform.

my father is not computer-literate, he'd have ordered this boat on-line after reading this review.

The problem is that while he likes to fish and has been wanting to buy a small fishing boat for his resthouse in the province, he doesn't know the first thing about operating one. He doesn't swim well either.

Highly informative and lively as usual.
