Rinker Boats #1
Nov 21 '00
We own a 236 Rinker Bowrider which we purchased new in 1994. The boat is powered by a 350 cid Mercruiser with an Alpha One outdrive. We have operated this boat each summer on the upper Mississippi River with no mechanical failures at all. We are on the river every weekend and have put many worry free hours on the vessel.
Rinker Boats are very competitively priced when compared to similar models by other manufacturers. The hull and interior are very easily maintained, as well as the engine and outdrive.
We boat with several other Rinker owners and I have had an opportunity to see the new models each year. It appears as though Rinker is making very good improvements each model year. The only problems I know of was with the Mercruiser control on the 454 engines. If the control is shifted from neutral to either forward or reverse without the engine running, it has caused the neutral button to stick resulting in some frustrated boaters sitting at the dock. This is not a Rinker or Mercruiser problem, but rather a uniformed boater problem.
