Unless you are Married to a Chef.....

So you need to learn to cook! I have been cooking a very long
time, but I still depend on a good recipe. There are many good
cookbooks out there, and I have a whole lot of them. I rarely
use them any more, though. Unless I am looking for something
like the temperature or length of time to cook a particular item,
I don't use my books. I do have a lot of recipes that I have
printed off the internet. They give me ideas when I just can't
think of a single thing to cook. They also give me a list of
ingredients so I can make my shopping list.

Another good idea for a beginning or experienced cook, is to
watch cooking shows. I watch the food network a lot! Again,
it gives me ideas, but also shows me how to do things like how
to handle my knives, and how to do a marinade or zest a lemon.

Finally, you are ready to start cooking. Make sure you have
plenty of cleared off counter space. Then line up all your
ingredients and have them all measured and ready to go into
your bowl or pan. This saves a lot of time, and maybe a burnt
dinner! Read over your recipe and go for it!

Good luck and Bon Appetite!
