All the elements are here, in the style that is clearly Robert Silverberg. Great character development, a terrific story line and plot. This is not just a formula suspense thriller. The story is very easy to follow and extremely interesting. The Sci Fi gendre just adds to the richness of the over all effect.


The key to good science fiction is keeping the concept plausible even though the reality does not really exist. Hot Sky At Midnight delivers in spades. The world that is created is a world you feel you could walk into tomorrow and would actually want to as well. You can't help but want to turn the page and continue the journey. The plot twists are great and you will have to pay attention to find out who the good guys and the bad guys are. There are plenty of surprises.

The book is very much in the style of the great detective novels of the 30's, 40's and 50's. You will definitely enjoy this book.
