Considering the concept behind this book, I expected it to be WAY sexier than it actually is. For some reason - probably because the authors wanted this to be something you can give as a gift, the pictures are hardly ever erotic (they did have a great photographer though). The recipes are mostly very simple, employing some consensus aphrodisiacs (oysters, figs) as well as other, rather odd selections (pine nuts? basil?? black beans???). Another thing that bothered me were the whole pages dedicated to quotes of "mary from VA", "jeff from KY", etc. (names not same as in book). It most certainly looks like they didn't really have enough material to fill the book.
In short, this may be a nice gift to your dorkish friends, but is not a good book at all, except for the high production quality.
