So That's What They're For is a great book, plain and simple. Although it can't take the place of Womanly Art of Breastfeeding or The Nursing Mother's Companion, it's still a fantastic book. This book looks at nursing from a more anecdotal point of view rather than a how-to stance. In other words, there are lots of stories and more personal types of details rather than instructions. The author does a great job of drawing you in and educating you rather than hitting you over the head with the "breast is best" stick. (Not that that's always a bad thing!) Anyway, this is my favorite breastfeeding book, and I always keep a couple of extra copies on hand to lend or give.
