The Literary Guild

The Bottom Line If you are like me, and do a lot of shopping from home, the Literary Guild can fulfill you book needs.
I joined The Literary Guild about 1 year ago when I saw one of the advertisements in a mailer. After reviewing the small selection in the mailer I decided to join. I met my obligation to them rather quickly. Within the first few weeks.
Their selection of books is very wide, I have gotten stamp kits to make birthday & Christmas cards, cookbooks, fiction, horror, home and garden and how to's. On most of their books, the details, at least on the website, give you a good idea of story lines, what crafts are in the books, etc.
Unfortunately, if you are looking for a wide variety of sports biographies, famous person biographies, they don't cut it.
The prices for hardcover books are very cheap, all the books that I have ordered (probably about 25) have been at 50% off the cover price and are in the range of 12.00 to 14.00. Another positive of this club is that you are able to take them to re-sale shops and turn them in for either store credit or cash. They don't contain any marking to let you know that they were ordered through a club, and most re-sale book stores don't except book club books.
The one thing I don't like about subscription book clubs is the notice you must send back with every mailing. The Literary Guild now allows you to go online and respond to the card. Even with the convenience, encountered where I did go online to make a selection or inform them I did not want anything at the time, and still received books. This is an inconvenience to send them back.
To date, I am still a member of the Guild and have been satisfied with their customer service and their speed on filling orders.
