T'ai Chi Can Be Sexy and Sultry
Oct 15 '00
Are you a lost soul? Do you find that you have an extremely short attention span? Is your sex drive sub-standard? Can you lift your leg only three inches from the ground? Many people ask those questions and answer yes to any one of them. I did also. Then I found T'ai Chi. A friend of mine in Georgia introduced me to this art two years ago and I was hooked since.
There are many reasons to take up this art. Do you want to be more healthy? Do you wish to be more flexible? Or perhaps you'd like to clear your mind on occassion and learn to find balance in life and spirit. (I know, I know, I sound like a Tarot Reader, but bare with me.) Well, try T'ai Chi.
Initially, you don't need to spend a monster amount of bucks to learn T'ai Chi. For the first three months, I learned from a book. I used T'ai Chi by Tri Thong. It was concise and included pictures of positions from every angle. The book cost me $5.99. After that, I was still intrigued by this flowing art and sought out my friend's teacher for instruction and have learned under her for two years. But because I enjoyed it, I had no problem shelling out additional dollars.
The style of T'ai Chi I learned was only 24 forms, which is condensed from the traditional style of over 80 forms. The reason for this was most people were not finding the time to practice and perfect the old style of T'ai Chi. So China's Physical Culture and and Sports Commission developed the shorter "Simplified T'ai Chi". It is still based on the Yang Style created many years ago.
I have me many friends from joining this group which is great socially. There were a lot of men in my group and did this with their shirts off. So for me, T'ai Chi can be very sexy. But I imagined the guys thought the same when then women were doing it.
Besides making friends, I became more aware of my health and had a much more clearer mind each day forward. What was great, though, was that I could practice a little each day and go at my own pace. I didn't need 4 hours a day to work on one technique. With T'ai Chi, one movement can be taught and learned in one minute. As you learn additional movements, you always start at the beginning (at least with my teacher) so that your previous lessons weren't forgotten and can only improve.
I hope I have convinced you to at least try T'ai Chi. Whether it is for health, fun, family bonding, or as a job supplement, you will benefit from this art form.
Besides, everyone wants to look sexy and attractive doing something.
