This epinion started as a comment to the epinion written by quagga (The Invaders Plan). I got a little carried away, so I decided to take Epinions advice, and post this as an epinion of my own.
The review I just sighted was well written, and you should read it. The problem is, I simply can not agree with it.
Invaders Plan is long winded and slow to get to the point. The entire story could have been told in one third the pages. I will agree that the writing style is easy to follow and it's a quick read. I don't know where the credit for this should go. To Hubbard, or if the rumor is to be believed, should the credit go to his followers at scientology who are said to have written all the books published after Hubbard's death. Invaders Plan was the first in a series of ten books following these characters. I purchased the second book in the series at the same time as Invaders Plan. The fact that it still sits in my bookcase unread eleven years later should testify to my overall opinion of the story.
The Goods: It's an easy read.
The Bads: Long winded, slow to get to the point.
The Invaders Plan is not a bad book… but with so much good Sci-Fi out there, why bother.
