I read "Battlefield Earth" and absolutely loved it and still count it as one of my favourite books of all time. I thought that I had found a new author to enjoy and better yet - one who writes long books which are not over as soon as you start them.

I was thrilled to discover this 10 book series and I borrowed the first two books in the series from my local library. The bits at the start of each book on the inside of the sleeve looked interesting, but the story just went nowhere. I completely failed to see any point in it at all. I even tried to read the second book, but gave up after about 50 pages.

This was a real shame after Battlefield Earth.
