If you love books you think, "What a steal!!" OK - they get you in the shipping & handling costs. ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS shop around and see if you can't find the same book somewhere else cheaper (a lot of on-line booksellers like www.e-campus.com have free shipping). Ok so now you've gotten your first 4 books and realize you have to buy at least 2 at regular "club prices". Most of the time you just want it over with and break down and just buy something. DON'T!! If you don't make any purchases within the first 6 months they will send you a certificate for 10-20% off (that's what I got!). Now you're faced with having to send back the monthly reply cards (at 33 cents a month - hey I hate that) - OK a lot of people don't realize but there is a 1-800 number you can call and cancel the "monthly selection". Or you can tell the operator you just don't want to receive those cards and they will change you over so you don't have to reply every month to stop the "monthly selection" from being sent to you. Another thing - if you still have to purchase your 2 required books WAIT until Christmas time - then you won't feel so bamboozled (and isn't the cost of shipping & handling worth not having to go to the mall!!!) The BIGGEST SECRET I revealed before is: If you don't make any purchases within the first 6 months they will send you a certificate for 10-20% off.  |
