"The Bear & the Dragon" is the latest book in a series that includes such greats as "The Hunt for Red October" , "Red Storm Rising", and "Rainbow Six." This book was highly entertaining for me who has read all the books in this series. Most of the books center around Jack Ryan who starts off as a CIA analysis and slowly works his way up to being President.
One of the main reasons I like Tom Clancy's books, is his character development. We constantly see characters reappearing from book to book. I believe that because of the attachment to these characters, most of the readers who have read previous Clancy books will be entertained with "The Bear and the Dragon."
On the other hand, if you are a first time reader of Clancy's books then this book may disappoint you. This book is definitely not the best in his series but it does help answer the question like "What happened to Robby Jackson?" , or "What is Ding Chavez up to?". If you don't know what the heck I am talking about, then this book probably isn't for you. However if you are a addicted reader to Clancy's books as I am , then this one will be a very entertaining read.
