In Eclipse Bay, Oregon, no two clans could be more different than that of the Hartes and Madisons. The Hartes are known for their cerebral, logical approach to life while the more colorful Madisons rely more on gut instinct and emotions. A feud keeps the families apart until the night that Hannah Harte and Rafe Madison find themselves with each other on the beach after their dates dumped them. They spend the remainder of the evening together before Rafe escorts Hannah home. The next day, an embarrassed Hannah admits she spent much of the night with Rafe, especially around the time his previous evening's date fell off a cliff.
After his name is cleared, Rafe leaves town. They next see each other when they both inherit half of her aunt's mansion Dreamscape. Hannah's deceased relative firmly believed that Rafe and her niece belonged together and she planned to be the catalyst even in death. Both want to use the mansion and try to get the other to sell their half. Neither will budge and soon the spark between them ignites into a deep love that worries the individual who killed Rafe's date eight years ago.
Jayne Ann Krentz is the queen of the romance empire because she always gives her readers what they want in their literature. Eclipse Bay is Ms. Krentz at her best with a frolicking romantic suspense novel that will be enjoyed by her myriad of fans. The plot is lively and fast-paced, but the tale belongs to the stubborn, impulsive, but brave lead charcaters. Readers will adore them and be elated that this is only their first installment in what will surely be a great trilogy.
