The Literary Guild--my experiences

Nov 16 '00

Hi folks! I've been a member of The Literary Guild now for about 2 years. They kept sending me e-mails back when I had AOL, so I finally decided "Hey...what the heck? 6 books for a $1 sounds pretty darned good!" Well, I finally got my books from them, about a month after enrolling, and wound up learning a lot about early aviation pioneers, exploration in Egypt, and designing websites. Of course, I also just HAD to have the Curious George collection! Ever since, I've been a big fan.

The Literary Guild allows you the option of selecting your books from a monthly flyer. I'm really happy that they stopped sending out the monthly selection automatically. I'm a "horse of a different color", and don't always care about reading the latest Danielle Steele or Tom Clancy (but Grisham is OK!). The only disadvantage to the Literary Guild membership is that now I receive frequent mailings asking me to join the Audio Book Club, the Mystery Book Club, or even the Doubleday Large Print book club!

Still though, the Literary Guild is run much better than one of the other clubs I'm in. It's a pleasure to do business with them!
