700+ pages of scratch down notes, written on airplanes, buses, backstages, and through pain, makes this one of the best biographies I have ever read. This real life tale of a man so passionate of his profession that he will drive 1700 miles round trip in one weekend, just to practise. Mick Foley's life has forever been propelled with the belief that someday, somehow, he will be a professional wrestler, most of all, he wants to be Dude Love.
In his younger days Mick and his friends were always caught filming wrestling movies of their own, with the 70's suave Dude Love at the center stage. One day, a wrestling trainer sees on of Micks movies of "The Dude," and thats where it all starts, training 850 miles from his home.
Now I dont want to delve into the story too much, but this book tells everything about Micks problems with wrestling throughout his life. His trials and tribulations as shown in his book have taken him down a long and hard road to stardom, and that is him, a star. Now one of the WWF's biggest superstars, he is one of the biggest ticket draws in the company's history, and he is respected among all his peers. Mick Foley goes into great detail in his book about the behind the scenes personalities of the wrestlers and bookers, making this one of the most candid stories I have ever read about the wrestling business.
