Re: Well done. (Reply to this comment)

marieroy - The comic book field still has a few of the 'funny books', but for the most part the field has had to change to follow its slowly ageing readers. Thus DC broke into new territory with "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns" and "Watchmen", both of which marked the change in themes to those of an adult readership.
DC Comics followed with "Sandman" and "Preacher" as long standing titles that had definite beginnings and endings. While "Sandman" does take place in the DC Universe continuity, it is unlike any other comic book that has ever been presented for its mystical and spiritual outlook. "Preacher" (now winding up its run) asks deep questions about god, morality and the decisions we must make to live our lives. Great stuff.

Well done. (Reply to this comment)

While reading through this I did not realise this is a review on comic books per se. In the early 50's I collected comic books as a kid. None were like these. This review certainly sheds a different light.
