| Linkster's Full Review: Battle Prize |
I have never read these smutty novels before, so I indulged myself and took 6 of them in. :) They actually weren't that bad and each book took just a little over a day to read. I truly enjoyed them. This is the 2nd of 6 that I will be writing on, and I hope you enjoy my reviews and summaries of them.
In this particular book, Battle Prize, Rani Cameron had moved back from Dallas to Albuquerque. While in Dallas she worked for a rather upright and rich citizen. A one Mr. Aaron Prescott. Due to Prescott's fleeting remarks about Rani's looks, her being the only female in the firm, she decides to quit.
She had just been about to wrap up an account with Mrs. Henderson when she quit and moved. Little did she know that her past would come back to haunt her.
She had been in Albuquerque for just about 6 months when a most unusual man walks into her sister's Miniature World Shop. He took careful watch as she set up the military figurines in battle. They sat there playing the battle out until Rani finds out why this man has really walked into the shop. His name is Gage Fletcher and he is here to do the bidding of Aaron Prescott. As to why, Rani has no clue, but due to the fact that she is no longer a Prescott employee she feels no need to continue the conversation.
Gage has a few surprises in store for her. He chooses not to tell her exactly why he is there until she has lunch with him so she has no choice. When her sister, Donna gets back from planning her wedding with her fiancee she takes over the shop and Rani runs after this mysterious man who has given her an ultimatum.
At this point in the book you know she is in for a couple difficult days. But until you read the book, you have really no idea how troublesome a day can get. LOL
Rani continues on with her life and everywhere she turns she sees Gage Fletcher. She finds out why they want her back. It turns out that Mrs. Henderson will only work with Rani on the account and that when she handed the account over to Prescott's other workers they treated the client like she knew absolutely nothing about business. That was their one mistake. She was actually a rather smart lady and just needed to be treated that way. Rani is also surprised to find out that after she left the owners son and future heir to the company walked out as well.
Prescott seems to think that his son Brady had a bit of a crush on Rani and that he left for her. It seems that Prescott also may have thought that Rani planned all of this to happen. She knew he was counting on the Henderson account and when that didn't fall through and Brady quit, the only way he could get his company back up on their feet was to find Rani and have her sweep this little mess up for him.
Gage Fletcher works in security and Rani throughout the book accuses him of being a bounty hunter.
You will be surprised at the end, at why he really came to find Rani, and with what Prescott ends up admitting to Rani. It's really a wonderful book!!
Stephanie James is a pseudonym for Jayne Ann Krentz, and currently I am working on collecting a few of her other books. She is a great author with an intelligent imagination.
Have a great day!!
