Pros:short
Cons:naive, primitive SF
Space opera about a newly-qualified ship's doctor forced to assume command
as his on-board superiors are all wiped out together in an accident when a
meteorite hits their Mars-bound passenger spaceship. Straightforward rocket stuff in which the laws of physics play a large part - but their use in the book is sufficiently questionable to arouse the suspicions of any high-school graduate. Rather superficial characterizations, highly naive approach to the medical profession. ("Like a dog worrying at an old bone, he kept returning to the thought that it was a disease that he had never heard of before. Which was certainly impossible.")
Only recommended for card-carrying 'SF appreciation society' members.
