| cledge's Full Review: Lackey, Mercedes |
Well Mercedes has definitely done it again. "The Black Swan" is a wonderful addition to the collection. Mercedes weaves a story of magic, betrayal and of course true love. Her characters are true to form and as always she brings the story to life, and builds to the final climax. Her character Siegfried the Prince, at first is a typical womanizing young royal, but once he encounters the beautiful and graceful Odette, he becomes the perfect prince(pun intended). Mercedes' descriptions of the characters and scenes allows the reader to paint the images in their mind. And that internal battle she gives her character Odile will make any reader who survived their teens feel for the girl. And of course Mercedes leaves you wanting more. "The Black Swan" is a welcome addition to my collection of Mercedes' books, and of course I have them all.
