Ebooks are eboring.

I've been an avid reader of all types of books since I was in the 7th grade. It's one of my favorite pass-times and is truly where I go to get away from it all.
One of my favorite things in the whole wide world, is cuddling up with my girlfriend either in a park on a sunny day or in front of a fire on a cold one, and reading while we cuddle.
I have to admit that there's an aesthetic pleasure to reading. I have one book that is hardbound with a leather cover and brass letters on it, and it's large in size, 11 inches tall. It's The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien and is signed on the inside by the man himself. It was given as a gift by my grandfather.
I like the smell of the pages and the leather; I like the feel of the paper between my hands and of the leather against my palms. I like turning the pages and playing with my bookmark. I like showing it to people. I read it at least once a year.
I simply don't get that same satisfaction from a computer. No one can sign my computer, well they can, but it will make me angry. I can't find money slipped in the pages from my mother. I can't find a note that says, "I love you." from my sweetie inside. There's no dedication from the person who bought it for me, and I sure can't take it to the park.
Add to this that if you crash, or for some reason technology missteps, your entire library is cyber-dust.
I'll grant that this is an entirely passion-based opinion, but then again, that's why I read to begin with.
