PKWBassGuy's Full Review: Alice Hoffman - Seventh Heaven
As in all of Hoffman's work.. which I am going to be read as a frequent, if redundant reviewer of.. the language here is stunning. Lyric paragraph after paragraph will leave even the most jaded reader nearly breathless. This book also shares with the rest of hoffman's work.. an incredibly quirky idea..( borderline wacko mom moves to a normal burg and changes 1/2 a dozen lives) .. which could easily turn into parody or caricature in the hands of a lesser writer.. instead becomes a charming, life-affirming delight in the hands of this stunning writer as Nora ( said wacko mom) sheds her special light through disparate plots of moving away, moving back, teen love, later love.. and the end leaves you feeling fulfilled and perhaps a tad less cynical about the powers of special human beings.
