Some things should not be Digital

In this world, everything is turning toward the power of the microchip; for efficency and practicality, there is no comparison. However, if we as a race lose books, on paper, with real ink, (remember Guttenberg?) we will have lost something priceless and irreplacable, just as the narwhale is irreplacably gone forever.
Besides, E-Books hurt your eyes and it is not healthy to stare at the screen so long. It really can create optical malfunction, or aggravate an already existing & perhaps benign form of astigmatism or cataract.
Stick to the fact that enough of the world in digitized. Leave our books alone. What's next, a virtual reality library? How far out of touch with the truth do we want to get?
