A few months ago I was reading a book...one that I had borrowed from my Mom. As I was sitting on the couch reading it, I realized I had not bought a book in, not months, but a few years. The thought kind of concerned me. I grew up reading...loving it in fact. However, I had become so busy, as many people have these days, that I was not making time for one of my favorite things to do.
I decided to join a book club, specifically Doubleday. My reason was that I don't have the time to peruse the brick and mortar stores anymore. I used to spend hours in them.
Doubleday works great for me. I can order via their website as well as refuse their monthly shipments (no card to return).
The only drawback I have come across so far is that their website is not set so that it is easy to navigate. They have no search other than by the first letter of the author's last name or title of the book...this is a waste of time.
The cost of the books are reasonable and comparable to both Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
This service may not be for everyone but it definately has made new books more accessible to me...from the comfort of my own home.
