If they will read a 700 page book

I have read all 4 books...and regard them as highly entertaining and provoke the imagination. I monitor all the books my children read and my 12 year old loves the Harry Potter books. She has read them over and over and over!!! In my opinion, if we can get children to read a 700 page book...as long as it not pornographic or uses inappropriate language then I say let them read!

I have read many reviews on these series of books, which a lot of them are negative. Some state that these books promote Satanism and Witchcraft. If a parent truly reads all books that are read by their children and explain the context to their children, they can help them to understand that these books are pure fantasy. A place to let their imagination go free. My child understands that the happenings in the Harry Potter books are fiction and can not really happen.

I believe that these books will end up being classics, along with "The Wizard of Oz", "The Chronicles of Narnia", and other fantasy series. They are considered classics already in my household and I am waiting until my 6 year old is ready for me to read them aloud to her.
