Bush or Gore: Who will run your life best?

As you all know, George W. Bush and Al Gore are fighting for the office of supreme ruler of the land. Not only do they wish to rule you and I as they see fit, but they expect to be praised for doing such. They realize that the majority of the citizenry is incapable of logical thought - the very same majority that is responsible for deciding the fate of all the people, not just themselves.

Due to the lack of foresight of the founding fathers, the Constitution of the United States has been raped and pillaged in the form of "interpretation" mostly because of its vagueness, and partly because the people have allowed those who wish to shape it to fit their needs to do so. We have therefore gone from being a constitutional republic to being a selfish democracy, in which the politicians carefully analyze which freedoms can be taken away in favor of the maximum return in the form of votes.

The following is an examination of some of the policies by which George W. Bush wishes to rule your life taken right off of his web site, and of course my rebuttal. I choose George W. Bush simply out of convenience, since Al Gore must have felt that his own views were too Marxist to display openly and proudly.

TAXES "Governor Bush believes that roughly one-quarter of the surplus should be returned to the people who earned it through broad tax cuts - otherwise, Washington will spend it. His plan will promote economic growth and increase access to the middle class by cutting high marginal rates. It will also double the child credit, eliminate the death tax, reduce the marriage penalty, and expand Education Savings Accounts and charitable deductions. The largest percentage cuts will go to the lowest income earners. As a result, 6 million families will no longer pay federal income tax."

At least it's good to see that Bush distrusts Washington as much as the American people do. Yet what I find puzzling is that he wishes to participate in the same organization that he distrusts, with little or no change. His idea of tax cuts isn't exactly original, nor is it real. His "tax cuts" are merely a partial return of the stolen surplus, redistributed in the same socialist form as they were taken. Effectively, this results in a Robin Hood-type scenario, in which the money was stolen from the rich mainly in the form of income tax to be given directly to the poor. Contrary to popular belief among Republicans, Georgie's tax plan is no less socialist than Al Gore's.

Note that I use the term "stolen" to describe the source of the surplus. In fact, to be precise, the method by which government achieved this wealthy status is a term that is often used by them when it's convenient for them. It's called armed robbery. Armed robbery is defined by the 1998 version of Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia as "the taking, by means of violence or intimidation, of property in the possession or in the immediate presence or control of another." The income tax fits this definition perfectly, since it requires that the taxpayer involuntarily gives a portion of his/her paycheck to the government, by threat of imprisonment. If the seizure and imprisonment of the "tax-evader" is resisted, then force is required. Therefore, there is no logical distinction between the income tax and armed robbery.

AFFIRMATIVE ACTION "Governor Bush opposes quotas and racial preferences; supports 'affirmative access' to open the doors of opportunity through programs such as the Texas 10 percent plan, where those who graduate in the top 10 percent of their class are automatically admitted to any state college or university; advocates needs-based contracting and breaking down government contracts to smaller sizes to encourage entrepreneurship in all communities"

Here is one of the many examples of Georgie smoothing over one of his controversial issues. In this statement, he basically says that he's against "affirmative action" (a nice term for the government's fascist policy based on race), and immediately addresses the original "affirmative action" program - the one that no one cares about, or even associates with the term anymore. On this issue, I made a mistake by choosing to pick apart Georgie instead of Gore. In fact, it's Gore who wishes to make one race superior in the eyes of government by granting them special privileges, not Bush. Again, the 1998 version of Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia defines "racism" as "making the race of other people a factor in attitudes or actions concerning them," in which the term "actions" obviously includes legislating policy. This means that Al Gore advocates racism. Therefore, Al Gore is a racist.

ABORTION AND LIFE ISSUES "Pro life with exceptions for rape, incest and life of the mother;Set the goal that all children should be welcomed in life and protected by law; Supports parental notification, banning use of taxpayer funds for abortion, and banning partial birth abortion; Supports efforts to increase adoptions; Opposes doctor assisted suicide, believes the role of a doctor is to relieve pain and suffering, not to end life; Make permanent the $5,000 adoption tax credit"

By his own admission, George W. Bush believes in infanticide. By referring to the unborn as "children", he implies that he believes that the fetus is in fact a human life, equal in the eyes of government to you and I. Yet he condones killing the "child" in certain convenient circumstances - namely "rape, incest, and life of the mother". We can argue all day long about whether or not a fetus is a human life or whether abortion is right or wrong, but it's irrelevant in this case. The fact of the matter is that Georgie believes that it is a life, yet at the same time lists justified reasons for killing it.

Al Gore, on the other hand, does not believe that a fetus is a human life, and believed this so strongly that he felt the need to cosponsor the "Freedom of Choice" act in the senate, which allowed the abortion issue to illegally take precedent over the 10th amendment of the Constitution. After his fifteen or sixteen flip-flops on the issue, he came to the conclusion that abortion should be legal because "a woman has the right to choose what she does with her own body". Of course he really doesn't believe this statement, which is evident by the fact that he condones the prohibition of drugs. He feels that a person does not have a right to do what he/she wishes with his/her own body. So apparently, according to Gore, a woman only has the right to choose what she does with certain parts of her body - in this case, her reproductive system. Or maybe not - he also condones the prohibition of prostitution, so there goes that theory. These are yet again more examples of right-wing morality legislation - legislation that even a lefty like Al Gore advocates. So being both a lefty and a righty makes Al Gore an authoritarian. Both Al Gore and George W. Bush want to imprison you and/or take your possessions if you don't live the way they want you to live. A "free country" indeed...

GUN LAWS "George W. Bush supports stronger enforcement of existing gun laws, would provide more funding for aggressive gun law enforcement programs such as Project Exile in Richmond, Virginia; supports automatic detention for kids who commit crimes with guns; supports requiring instant background checks at gun shows by allowing gun show promoters to access the instant check system on behalf of vendors; supports law-abiding American's constitutional right to own guns to protect their families and home; supports the current ban on automatic weapons; supports banning juveniles from possession of semi-automatic "assault weapons"; supports increasing the minimum age for possession of a handgun from 18 to 21; supports banning the importation of foreign made, "high-capacity" ammunition clips; Governor Bush supports voluntary efforts to equip all handguns with child safety locks. If Congress passed legislation requiring mandatory trigger locks for all new handguns, he would sign it. He is concerned, however, that such legislation not be seen as a panacea, because adults still have to be responsible for using the trigger locks and for monitoring their children's actions.
Opposes government mandated registration of all guns owned by law abiding citizens."

The statement "Bush supports law-abiding American's constitutional right to own guns to protect their families and home" and the rest of his statements are blatantly hypocritical. He supports the over 22,000 gun laws currently on the books; he supports additional banning of certain types of guns that he, as supreme ruler, finds "unnecessary to own"; he supports making it illegal for an 18 year old citizen to own a gun, except for the case when Georgie decides to send that same 18 year old into combat after drafting him (ie. forcing him to fight in a war against his will, by threat of imprisonment). Yet at the same time he claims that he also supports the second amendment, and more importantly, the freedom of the people? This is either a case of Georgie forgetting to think again, or he is trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the great unwashed.

SOCIAL SECURITY "Governor Bush believes Social Security is a defining American promise that must be kept. He will not change benefits in any way for current retirees or those near retirement. But to save Social Security for the next generation, he will lead a bipartisan effort to reform it by giving individuals the option of voluntarily investing a portion of their Social Security payroll taxes in personal retirement accounts. These accounts will earn higher rates of return and generate wealth that can be owned and passed on from parents to their children."

There is not a single financial advisor on Earth that believes that Social Security is a good investment for one's retirement. Even Comrade Bush admits that Social Security is a bad investment. On his website he states: "The real return people get on this investment (Social Security) is less than 2 percent a year. Over the long term, sound investments in a balanced portfolio of stocks and bonds yield about a 6 percent return after inflation." Yet he still refuses to stop stealing money from the government money tree known as the "taxpayer", in order to fund this ridiculous program. Not only is Social Security nothing more than a bankrupt program that happens to be a mere extension of the income tax, but it doesn't even benefit the people it's supposed to help. The elderly are stuck in the ghetto eating cat food and drinking Woolite as a result of the 12% of their paycheck that they were not allowed by the "benevolent" government to keep, save, and invest as they see fit, not as politicians see fit.
