A Book I Enjoy

I received the Harry Potter books, the first four years, when they came out this past summer. I have two small children and thought they would enjoy them. But, I think my children are still too young to keep interested. (They are 6 and 2.) I think children at least eight years old or so would do well reading them.

I have no idea what some of the controversy is about with the content. I heard recently that it was removed from the Best Seller list or added to the children's selection, or something like that. I also heard it was banned in a country. I'm still scratching my head about it. I don't know what the problem is with the story.

I am practically finished the fourth year and am eagerly awaiting the release of the next. I think it is a wonderful story. It has literally came alive in my mind! Every line I read, I can see the story in my head, as if it were a movie. I have very much enjoyed the fantasy and world of make believe that makes up Harry and his world of wizarding friends.

This book has no foul language nor any inappropriate scenes for children. This book is all about the make believe world of fantastic wizards and 'muggles'. It is as sweet and pure as any child's imagination. I think this woman who wrote this book, has done more than she knows.

Personally, I don't have much time at all for reading a magazine, let alone a book. But once I started reading Harry Potter, I sit down at night when every one else goes to bed, and I drift off to a hidden castle.

I think it is a tremendously powerful book, especially for young children. It will open their mind to a whole new world. I feel that every child should experience one fatastic journey in their life. For me, mine was to Hogwarts.
