If your interested in becoming a webmaster or just want to know how to create a webpage for yourself, then Hands on HTML by Greg Robertson and Tim Alton is for you.The book in broken into 3 projects all centered around Greg's favorite hobby, guitars.Project 1 teaches you how to create a basic web page on guitars that is personal in nature. You learn basic HTML tags and how to use graphics.
Project 2 teaches you intermediate skills such as tables, forms, frames, imagemaps, and multimedia in the context of a business site that sells guitars.
Project 3 teaches advanced skills such as Cascading Style Sheets and Javascript in the context of a guitar museum.
The lessons are easy step-by-step and all exercises include analysis so you can see what the code does. It's easier than you think. The book can't teach all webmaster skills, though.Other books are necessary, but the central material is in this book.
Scattered around the book in the appropriate sections are tips and additional comments that help you with specific topics or are just informative about future developments in HTML.
Appendices in the back include HTML QUICK REFERENCE,Overview of HTML Editors, and The CD-ROM's contents. The included CD-ROM has the project files needed for the websites you'll create as well as software for various uses in creating your website.
Overall,i highly recommend this book as book 1 in your webmaster library. It will start your journey into web design with ease.
