The Bottom Line great book club.
I have been using scholastic in my preschool for about 10 years. I get excellent feedback from the parents. The price of the book range from 95 cents to 15.95, I use the preK club and the kindergarten first grade one for my preschoolers. I find some on the books in the perk club are more picture books with the club for older ones the books can be used for more years even as they start to read themselves Scholastic Book clubs are usually thought of as book clubs for children in school. This is not true if you are a daycare, home school, or parent who likes quality books at a low price scholastic is for you. . This is how the club works each month you receive a newspaper style paper to pass out to your children they take it home and read about the books offered. Then they bring back the money and the order form and you send for the books. I order by phone and send a check for payment. The books arrive in 2 weeks and if you do not get the books in 3 weeks you are given 75 bonus points. The points can be used to buy anything in the club or future clubs a new aspect is scholastic keeps track of your point in a "bank" this is much better then the old way. Over the years I have ordered lots of computer software, a stereo system, color TV all with bonus points. There is a minimum order with this club of 15.00. This could be hard if you are a small daycare or one child but I am sure you could find 15.00 worth of books every other month. The books are classic stories like Clifford and Winnie the Pooh and pokemon were offered this year. it has a wide variety of choices you can also order CDs from another part of the club if you call the toll free number 1-800- scholastic they will send out an order form. There is no ordering in the summer it does follow a 10-month school year. These book can also be ordered on line at Scholastic.com. I find this easier then ordering over the phone since it can be done any time of day or night. There is also a customer service on line so if you have any questions you can email them and they will get back to you within a couple working days. You can also check the status of an order on line by typing in your customer number and date of order.  |
