Try BigWords.comDec 27, 1999 Write an essay on this topic.I shopped at Amazon at first, because it was the first real big on-line bookseller. But living in Washington, I get to pay tax there. So I shopped around. One of my best finds so far is BigWords.com. BigWords specifically sells textbooks for colleges. Their used prices are discounted about 20%. What's neat is you also have the option to buy used college texts too. But their inventory isn't limited to just textbooks. There are LOTS of other types of books, from mass-market paperbacks, to travel books, to how-to books, to classic literature. Sure its not as big as those other two on-line giants, but its friendlier. For my past patronage they sent me a thank you in the mail for Christmas. Sure it was just a pen, but it was a pen with soap bubbles and a bubble blower in it! It made my day. Their on-line documentation isn't filled with a bunch of legalize, its much more personal. And here's the kicker folks. Standard shipping is absolutely free! You can pay extra to get two-day shipping, fed-ex, etc., if you really need textbooks fast. But the standard shipping has never taken more than a week for items I ordered that were already in stock. I have loved dealing with this company for their friendliness, prices, and because they don't take themselves too seriously. I recommend them to all my friends. |
