Pros: None. Cons: Business practices bordering on fraud, terrible customer service.
I will attempt to be fair in writing this review, which will be difficult because I am intensely angry with Authorize.net.
I should have cut my losses during the process of signing up for a reseller account. My experience began by completing...

Pros: a secure method of payment Cons: not user-friendly, complicated set-up process and pretty bad customer service
I've been in the Internet business for over 4 years now. Most of my work has been design and development of web sites. I work a lot with scripting languages like JavaScript, PHP and databases like MySQL.
Recently, I set up my first e-commerce site...

Pros: Very easy to use, very professional staff. Cons: I honestly cannot think of any.
I'd like to give credit where credit is certainly due. I no longer use Authorize.net, but I used it for 2.5 years while operating my online business. I sold the business in Nov 2003 and canceled the service in Jan 2004. Setting up the account was ...

Pros: None Cons: Zero Customer Support.
They treat you like a criminal.
Very hard to get your money.
Cardservice International is the merchant services company that you are getting involved with. They pride themselves on superior customer service. What you get is treated like a felon. No matter what you do to try to avoid getting your transactions ...

Pros: I get through to customer service quickly, or they call me back quickly as promised. Cons: But they blame issues on other people
I have a brick-and-mortar business and wanted to be able to process credit cards so after doing some research, I found Authorize.net. Unlike some others experiences, I had no problem setting up the account and using the virtual terminal. My one and ...

Pros: None Cons: I have experienced some contract deceit and poor customer service with Cardservice International.
I originally had a website through bigstep.com on Dec 4, 2000. They offered a merchant account at Cardservice International for credit card sales. I signed up for it, and assumed it was on a month to month basis.
I moved my website from...

Pros: In all my interactions, someone answered the phone - I guess this is a pro. Cons: Energy and time spent placing blame rather than solving issues.
I was planning a software change that required me to switch merchant services and credit card processors. My merchant processor signed up for Authorize.net. Unfortunately, the software conversion didn't happen. I contacted my merchant ...

Authorize.net: Fails in every category
by geekhelp ,Nov 14 '03
Pros: Ubiquitous Cons: Payment Slow, Support poor
Major Problems:
*Often takes 4 days OR MORE for funds deposited by customer to post to account.
*Very limited support hours (basically 9-5 M-F) -this includes urgent issues and emergencies
More Minor Problems:
*They will take out charges and such on weekends but will not make deposits on weekends.
*Poor support
*They go down fairly often.
This is supposed to be a professional company that is used by Wells Fargo and others but in our experience Authorize.net failed across nearly every category and is certainly not a company you want to trust with your business.

Cardservice International is not Authorize.Net
by happyabc ,Jan 10 '06
Pros: Cardservice International is not Authorize.Net Cons: Cardservice International is not Authorize.Net
Card Service International is a separate entity and not owned or operated by Authorize.Net.
It is unfair to place the Card Service International opinions with the Authorize.Net opinions/ratings.
That would be like judging your electric company based on the actions of your gas company.
---
Authorize.Net pricing is far better then other gateways. I have, quite happily, been with them as a reseller and merchant for over a year.
They've made some major changes in the last year which has greatly improved the service. The customer service department is now based in the USA instead of using Canadians. They have added Automated Billing and Quickbooks integration. Soon they will have multi-user login capabilities.
Currently they are the # 2 gateway in the world. I suspect they will be # 1 before long.

AWFUL Customer service
by wagco ,Mar 26 '08
Pros: NONE Cons: Slow payment. Processes funds on the weekends, but does not settle including those days.
I run a business and cannot be on hold for 45 minutes each time there is a problem... Decline cards a lot for no reason .

Good value, secure processing with lots of options.
by amy-sea ,Nov 15 '06
Pros: Secure processing, multiple integration methods, support multiple payment types
Cons: None. My experience has been very positive.
I've used Authorize.net for over a year and Ive found them to be a reliable payment gateway; their system works just the way they say it does. And their support is miles better than the other payment gateways I worked with. No more waiting 20 minutes on a long distance call to get help! My reseller helped the whole setup process along, which was much easier than having to enter all of the processor information myself. Right now, I use their eCommerce service, but I might look at their other options in the future. Overall, its just a good solution.

Looking to squeeze every cent they can from you.
by creditcap1 ,Jun 02 '09
Pros: At the supervisor level, they are pleasant enough to speak with. Cons: This company does not value their customers at all.
This company has no regard for customer service. From my experience and from what I have heard from others who were signed up with them, authorize.net does not care whatsoever about customer service. They will lose a customer over a fee as little as $25.00. So if you are considering these guys, keep this in mind. They do nothing, their website is not user friendly, their only priority is to do a cash grab every month and if you ever dare ask them to waive a fee, forget it.
In point of sale, its a partnership. Find a provider who will act like a partner. These guys are in it to gouge the vendor all the fees they can until the vendor leaves and they do not care if you leave. To me, that is not any way to do business.
