I've work with the ADP products for over 5 years and I've been far from impressed with the software or the support that I have been given from ADP. I'm a manager of a payroll department that pays over 8000 employees across the United States. We started out initially with the Dial ADP, all DOS based and not very user friendly. Since you have to look long and hard to find someone to support DOS based programs, 2 years ago we switched. With Y2K around the corner, it was time to put this "dinosaur" to rest.
We then moved to the ADP PC/Payroll for Windows. Although this program was a great improvement from the Dial ADP, it still did not meet the expectations that I had for a payroll processing. There was no easy way to check an employees information without switching around in the program. This software would be good for a small to medium sized company, but nothing larger than 3000 employees. So, once again I was searching for a new way to handle our payroll.
In July of this year they gave us a peek at their HRizon for Windows payroll processing software. Needless to say I was even more impressed with this program. It still has a few bugs to work out but I think in the long run it will work fine. This is more suited for companies that perform Payroll and Human Resources within the same department.
ADP on a whole does an OK job trying to support their systems. Our representatives are located out of Lexington, MA and their support team has been less than perfect and down right mediocre at best. We are still in the learning process on this new HRizon system, but in my opinion it seems to be the best that ADP has to offer.
