| Margaret1220's Full Review: Gateway Performance 933 deluxe |
Two years ago we decided it was time to buy a Computer, according to my children we were the last Parents in Maryland to buy a Computer. I was lucky as my brother owns some $35,000 worth of Computer Equipment and knows a great deal about them.
We sent for a Gateway package of Home/Office Computers, we have a small business on the side. We picked the G6-333 PentiumII, expandable 64MB SDRAM,n.vidia 4MB AGP,6.4GB.DVDII ROM Drive, Internal Zip Drive, 17" monitor,G series mid-tower,Boston Acoustics speakers,Ersoniq wavetable, Telepath Modem w/x2 technology w/speakerphone,MS Home Essential and Professional Resource Software, several software bundles, printer, Gold Service for a total of $3,471.00. (coupon for upgrade 98 windows)
I had only experience operating computers, while my Husband was at work, my kids and I set up the system, it was fairly easy, clear instructions and pictures were very helpful. We had several books that came with the computer for each unit, installing software was a breeze (never had any experience doing this), within two days everything was running and the internet hooked up.
Because I wanted our Computer to be up to speed, so to speak, plenty of memory, decent speed, etc..I chose some upgrades. After I purchased this Computer it was already a computer of the past, the lowest speed was 400 MHZ.
I found the Gateway Computer with the reference books, support tech and information from Computer whiz's I was able to fix any problem, at present I can fix almost any problem and if I need help then I get it.
I have been very pleased with Gateway and the Support Team, I did feel that some of the software that I purchased was duplicated as it was already in the bundle that came with the computer. I am currently adding another hard drive, this computer is used at least six hours a day more or less.
This system was a bit pricey, we paid much more than we originally planned, but I feel it was money well spent. We also have an option to trade our system in, but I have decided to just upgrade and keep this computer.
If you are buying a computer, do plenty of research, there are many, many computers, and gazillions of hardware, software. Companies such as Gateway can be helpful in making your purchase, I wouldn't go out blindly and buy a computer. If you can afford it, get the top upgrades, more speed, memory, better speakers and forget the 15" monitor, go with the 17" at least. Gateway will send you several models to choose from and each model comes with features, software options, drive, video, multimedia and printer options and upgrades to choose from.
We love our Gateway Computer and if you are in the market to buy a computer, I would recommend putting Gateway on your list of computers and compare quality and price. Join us on the website epinions.com to read the reviews concerning different makes and models. Best of Luck!
