Just a small notch above the L400, this machine bumps you to the next century in processor Mhz. I've heard people say that they haven't noticed the difference between a Celeron and a Pentium III, and I'm going to tell you the truth about this. If you are a user who stay in Windows and runs applications such as Word, Quicken, Excel, and others of a similar nature you are not going to notice any difference. However, if you are a heavy internet user or a gamer you will see a huge difference.
The Celeron is a slimmed down version of the Pentium III and if you push the Celeron you will definitely see the difference. However, this shouldn't discourage you from giving this system a chance. It is in fact a quality machine with many merits. First off, it is really cheap. You won't pay more than a $1000 for this machine, and that includes a monitor. Secondly, if you aren't looking to go beyond basic applications and internet surfing, you are going to love this machine. You will breeze through your programs and have no trouble hitting basic websites. Third, Dell offers the best tech support you will find from a major computer vendor. They will help you to the best of their abilities and you will be sure to get what you are looking for.
So, I recommend this machine for any budget shopper who is looking for a basic machine. If you are looking for a gaming machine or an internet machine you are going to have to upgrade a little. However, this is a wonderful machine and you will enjoy your investment.
