Before purchasing a graphics card, I would recommend going to a store like Best Buy and looking at some new-high-end games...when a game catches your eye, take a look at the RECOMMENDED SYSTEM SPECS section on the box--minimally, I would recommend getting a graphics card that has at least twice as much memory on it than the RECOMMENDED SYSTEM SPECS lists. Remember, the more onboard RAM it has, the better...if you want to run DVD movies or watch TV from your computer don't get a graphics card with less then 32Megabytes of RAM otherwise the picture may suffer, especially if you have a larger monitor--this graphics card does a great job with DVDs but TV suffers once in a while. If I was to recommend a graphics card it would have to be this one, since it's the one I have in my computer. Honestly, this card performs beyond my high level of expectations about 99.5% of the time that I use my computer. For games, I was pleasantly surprised that it could handle ALIENS vs. PREDATOR with no trouble at all, even in multi-player mode over the internet. Also, NOCTURNE, one of the newest and most high-end graphics requiring games currently on the market runs to perfection (on the highest game resolution setting--1280x1024--with a large monitor) with this graphics card. I'd definitely recommend this one to any prospective shoppers, but, honestly, its not like I go around buying/comparing graphics cards every time a new one comes out, so just go to the store check out the high-end games and get the card that seems to suit your individual needs best.
