I work for a company and we go through new laptops all the time.
We've been using Dells for the past year of so and I've seen a lot of models come and go. This one is not to bad. It's kinda heavy and if you have long fingers of big hands, the mouse buttons are close together becuae they added the mouse pointer and the touch pad. Not a bad idea, but maybe they should have just given you the choice when you purchase the machine. I've got long fingers and it's not very comfortable to use either the touch pad or pointer and the buttons associated with them The LCD is excellent and I also like the fact that you can put 2 batteries in it at the same time. I've always hated the fact that when the laptop is in the Docking station, you can't take a battery out and put both the Cd Rom and floppy drive in the bays. The left bay will only except a battery. Having to use the floppy drive as an external device is a pain. You can't have a local printer or zip drive attached when you have the floppy drive hooked up. Another thing is the Cd Rom won't function as an external device, so you either have it in it's bay, our you don't use it. The speed of the machine is excellent and we get 128 MB of RAM, so i would recommend that upgrade. The laptop over all is a little heavy, espcially when you have 2 batteries in it. We opted for this laptop becuase of it's price and durability. Also becuase Dell is excellent with the customer support. The Docking station works well as an add on feature. If you are looking for a nice laptop, this is it.
