I have joined the leagues of Palm users. I delved in w/ the Palm M100, for $149 plus $17/2 year warranty (that covers screen breaks) I am happy w/ my decision. I mainly bought it to replace my old Casio PV-200 (which I broke 3 of). The M100 is built much more rigid and though sleek, proves tough as it has handled numerous drops w/o the screen breaking.
I use the M100 to keep my weekly schedule as well as friends/business phone #'s and email. It works great for what I need it for. Comparing it w/ others, the screen could have been larger, but it makes up for the smaller size w/ the crispness of the text and images. I can see how this could be a problem for older users though...
I chose the M100 over others, mainly because of the price...$149....
the others i looked at were well over $200 and this fit my price range. I dismissed the Handspring Visor because it was $180 (w/ pc adapter)...My M100 came w/ a PC adapter and was $149, plus I don't really care to add on a MP3 player? later.
The Palm Software works great w/ my Windows2000 machine. Plugs in through the serial port and with the push of one button on the adapter cable, the M100 syncs itself w/ my PC. Then 3 clicks later I can have it synced w/ Yahoo! also...I suggest you Delete all Yahoo! data and overwrite, I got duplicates when I tried syncing.
Overall I suggest this product for anyone looking to spend around $150, and who needs something they can drop w/o breaking, and that will provide a good schedule program and contacts listing. Of course, it's Palm so you can add stuff (for me it was definitely Tetris & LodeRunner)...But don't forget you can likely get a cheap warranty so if it does ever break, just trade it in for a new one.
