Pros:Forwarding, pop3 retrieval, easy to remember addresses
Cons:unscheduled server down times with no warnings, web interface slow and often clutzy.
I began using Netaddress a few years ago, simply for the pop3 retrieval option, my name wasn't taken, and the e-mail address (usa.net) was easy to remember for my friends.
Since then they've begun charging for the forwarding and retrieval options, $12 a year. No big deal, $12, so both myself and my boyfriend paid for the retrieval option.
Don't know if they used the money to change the the servers or what, but almost ever since 2-3 times a month we've had retrieval problems...usually only temporary, but nonetheless...it's natural that you fret over uncollected e-mail...it could always potentially be important, or so one always thinks.
For the most part I really appreciate the service, and it's generally solid, but the site could use some speed renovations. Yahoo! Which I've just reviewed tonite now offers most of the usa.net features for free, with more linked features, to boot.
Netaddress, listen up, and get with the times...net users are more savvy, shorter of attention span and more impatient than ever before...you've gotta keep up!
