AOL Instant Messenger is a great service that AOL that lets members chat privately with other AOL members. AOL’s instant messenger also let non-AOL members chat with AOL members. By using AOL Instant Messengers, I can chat to someone and still surf the net. I do not have to sit in a chat room and talk to my friends. Going into a chat room, limits my movement on the net. If I want to talk to someone that is not an AOL member, I can not use AOL’s chat rooms.

I have all my friends and family on the Buddy List so I know when they are online.

I like the concept of instant messaging. Many times when I am online, I get to catch up on the latest happening with friends and family by using instant messaging. I know I have saved hundreds of dollars by talking to distance friends and relatives by using instant messenger than using "ma bell".

Even though, I like the concept of instant messaging, it can be a nuisance. There are times when I am online that I do not want to talk to anyone. Receiving an instant message at this time is annoying. Also, I have been spammed by someone using instant message. The only way I got them to leave me alone was when I threatened to report them to AOL.

All in all, AOL’s Instant Messenger is a great concept. It allows you to talk to friends and family in real time. Reach out and Instant Message Someone.
