When I thought that the Pentium III from Intel at 1GhZ was the best you could get, boy was I wrong. I decided to purchase a new computer for my mother's work, and she needed the best there was. So after having a good experience with my Gateway G6-350 and Astro, I decided to purchase one of these new systems from Gateway. After using it numerous times, here's what I found with it:
Price:
The price for this system was $3499. It actually is a great price! It came with a monsterous 60 gigabyte hard drive, DVD player (high-end), 2 frontal USBs, VX900 monitor, and much more! Plus, you alos get the great service and customer support from Gateway country! I found the price to be just incredible! The Gateway Performance 1500xl is well worth it. Gateway has great prices and warranties for their PCs.
Customer Support:
Gateway country has very friendly service. I find their customer support to be the best there is. Everyone that I talked to helped me out with any of my problems, and they went out of their ways just to help me out. Gateway simply has the best customer support there is.
Installation:
Installation is very easy. There is a very detailed instruction manual on installing the Gateway Performance 1500xl. A great feature that I noticed about it is that there are 2 frontal USB ports. That makes hooking up scanners or printers very easy. Installing the computer for me was quite simple, but if you have trouble installing computers, then you should call a proffesional to install it for you.
Durability:
The Gateway Performance 1500xl is built tough. It will not break for a long time. I have never had a bad problem with a Gateway DESKTOP computer. They are built very strong, you can hit em', and nothing will happen =) It will proudly last you for many years to come.
Software:
The Gateway Performance 1500xl came with a lot of software that was perfect. It 1st came pre-installed with Windows Millenium Edition. Then it also included Microsoft Small Buisiness 2000, which is an exceelent program that in stores is also quite pricy. Then there was Kodak Picture It, Intuit Quicken 2000, and other programs that were similar to those.
Processor and Speed:
The Gateway Performance 1500xl came with a Pentium 4 processor which is brand new! I just heard of it after I saw it online. The speed was just incredible! I haven't seen anything as fast as the Gateway Performance 1500xl in my life! A clock speed of 1.5GhZ which is an equivelent to 1500MhZ, that's just purely incredible. This is the fastest computer on the market that I have currently seen.
Ease of Use:
The Gateway Performance 1500xl uses Windows ME (Millenium Edition). It is very simple to use. The 2 frontal USB ports make using external devices easy. Installation along with the customer support make it even easier to get started. This is a win win situation, you can't go wrong here. The Gateway Performance 1500xl is as easy to use as any PC on the market.
Sound:
I got a Boston Acoustics BA635 system with my Gateway Performance 1500xl. I personally love those speakers! They are very low priced, and you get superior sound from them. The Gateway Performance 1500xl is a pure music machine, I downloaded Winamp for it, and the sound that I get is incredible!
Video:
I purchased a Gateway VX900 monitor for it. The video effects are great! The colors are very bright, and the pixels are well mixed. The video effects on the Gateway Performance 1500xl are great! The movies load very fast, and they run very smoothly. I was amazed with the video effects with this computer.
Hard Drive Space:
The Gateway Performance 1500xl comes with a monsterous 60GB hard drive! That's huge! The hard drive on my Gateway G6-350 is only 9.7GB. You can fit very many things on this computer, from MP3s to .PDF files! You can fit it all! The Gateway Performance 1500xl has so much hard drive space in it, it feels like it will never run out!
Memory and Ram:
128MB of RAM is very good. That will keep your system running very fast and all. The Gateway Performance 1500xl wont be lagging for a very long time, it will keep chugging at very high speeds for a very long time. The Gateway Performance 1500xl is loaded with huge amounts of internal power. It's like putting a 400HP diesel onto a VW Beetle, that's truly how powerful this PC is.
The Verdict:
The Gateway Performance 1500xl is probably the best PC ever built! I'm glad to own one, not very many people actually know that the Pentium 4 exists. The Gateway Performance 1500xl is loaded with massive amounts of power, it will last for a very long time. This computer will put you into the fast lane, and its quality is incredible. Gateway is a very trusted company, that's customer support is probably the best that I have ever seen. It comes loaded with quality software, and loaded with a huge hard drive. The DVD-ROM is also a great feature, you'll be able to watch DVDs on this computer. I have done so, and the DVD quality was great becuase of the Gateway Performance 1500xl's video performance. $3499 is a great price for such a computer, if you need a computer from heaven, then this baby is for you.
