| Hornet's Full Review: Dell Dimension XPS T800r |
I had a Dell Dimension XPS Pentium 200, bought it 4 years ago and the computer has just impressed me as to how durable it is. It has never let me down. It even moved cross country with me (3029 miles) in the back of a moving company truck. While unloading the box containing my Dell it fell off the truck and the computer took the full impact. Aside from a seriously dinged case and cracked plastic front face and cracked plastic front foot the computer fired up perfectly and continues to work today, Dad loves it.
So how could I even think of another computer product after that? So I upgraded to the Dell XPS t800r and actually bought it online. The only change I made was move up to a 19 inch monitor. I LOVE THIS COMPUTER! Running Win 98 I put a Voodoo 3 card in for games and it rocks! This machine just strengthens my loyalty to Dell. It continues to out perform anything I have owned or worked with in the past. I use a Compaq Deskpro 400 at work and the difference in performance is amazing and I am not just talking about speed. My Dell is by far a much more stable system then the Compaq and I make that statement based on consistent daily use.
Nothing is ever perfect however and I want to be completely fair so here are the two gripes I have about system. First thing was the USB connector was not working properly but Dell tech helped me figure out the problem over the phone, but a computer newbie would have never figured it out even with tech support. Second, the mouse would not plug into the port, after looking in the plug two of the leads had been crimped in shipping some how so I had to send the mouse back for a new one which Dell replaced free of charge and paid for shipping so that was cool.
Ok, not trying to sound like a Dell spokesman but when a product or company works this well for me I have to give them a shout out.
