| DiamondDave's Full Review: Mindspring |
I've been with Mindspring for over three years now, and have not had any problems. When I originally signed up, I had just left the quickly-sinking Compuserve, and went with a popular, local ISP; Mindspring. Little did I know that they'd soon be conquering the world.
Back then, when I couldn't find my Mindspring CD, I just drove over to their little offices and asked for a new one, which they happily gave me. The few times when I'd screwed up settings on my computer (my fault) and couldn't connect, I was always able to get through to tech support quickly and toll free. Not only were they knowledgeable and helpful, but they were friendly too. It was a real pleasure to be doing business with people who were so cool, and knew what they were doing.
The network is practically never down, I always connect on the first try, and I can't even remember when the last time my connection was dropped was. Plus, there are no commercials. They have their own software you can take advantage of, or not. You don't have to use it. If you just want a simple, reliable, no-frills connection, you can have it. If you need more hand-holding, they're there for you. They have several different accounts, depending on your needs, as well as web-hosting. I'm sure you can find one that'll work for you there.
Mindspring is the example of best customer service that any company would be wise to emulate. I see myself staying with Mindspring (Earthlink) for a long, long time.
