What kind of computer you are going to buy,it mainly depend on what do you want it to do.
For example,some person who may just want to send/receive email,visit some Web Sites or do some common job,they should select some famous brand,for IBM,Compaq,Dell... For they can provide good service for you.You need not to care about how the computer worked,just use it.
But if you want to be a super man in the personal computer field,or play game with it ... you'd better assemble a computer by yourself,DIY(Do it yourself).
Because the computer usually full of mystery to the beginners,if they can assemble a computer by themselves,they will became more familiar with the computer's structure,and decrease the mystery.And in the period,you can get more knowledge about the computer,make it easy to troubleshoot your computer.
If you want to play game,for the new game usually need more and more resources,and some of them will need you to change some computer settings-Video card,swap files... and sometimes, you need to change some components,if your are not familiar with your computer,it's hard to do.
And if you assemble a computer by yourself,usually you can use less money to get more excellent performance than the Brand Computers.
Of course,as a beginner,you need help from the experienced person,they can give you helpful instruction how to assemble a computer and how to select the components.
