Ever look a gift horse in the mouth? Not with the Dell Dimension L433c you won't. We got our Dell as a surprise present from my parents to my kids who have been pestering me for a computer for a solid year. Santa certainly picked out a good computer that combines basic power, flexibility, speed and a configuration that serves the needs of kids playing Blues Clues, Dad playing Rogue Squadron, or Mom learning to surf the net. Anyone looking for a solid, fully-featured yet affordable computer with multimedia options should consider the Dell L433c. Some of this computer's strong points:
-- custom configurations -- Dell can modify the package to suit your needs whether you need more power or more bells and whistles.
-- suprisingly fast for a Celeron during normal and internet use -- uses a Conexant V.90/56K telephony modem with MS Explorer and telephony software.
-- very good sounding Harmon-Kardon HK-195 speakers
-- ours came with a 17-inch monitor - great resolution and distortion free.
-- a good variety of software including MS Works, various MS tools and support programs, Windows 98
-- very easy to set up and get started with
Overall, though not the fastest and most powerful system on the market, this computer is a very good choice for a novice, family, occaisonal user, or someone on a budget. Dell's reputation for customer service and what I've found to be a very well-designed product only adds to its value.
