Well my friends, Dell has done it. They have created a computer that I feel comfortable both at home and on the road. In fact, I love it so much that it has replaced my desktop computer.
I originally was looking for a notebook for me to take to school so that I could save space and also take it to the library. However, I was hoping to find a notebook that would seem like a desktop. With that I began my search. I wanted a notebook with a large screen--on easy to see--, light, fast, and inexpensive.
Man, I must have looked everywhere--Gateway, Toshiba, Sony, but the Dell was the one for me. Let me tell you why.
First of all the screen is huge! I think it is something like 14.1 inches viewable. This is almost as big as most monitors. In addition, it is easy to see from any angle. You no longer have to be directly in front of the screen to see it.
Now it is also fast. It hosts a Pentium II processor and has 80 MB of RAM. The video looks great (although it is nothing compared to a desktop with a 3-D card). All of your basic applications will run very well, but you will see a difference in terms of computer games. Any graphic intensive game will not work well, but you really need a 3-D card for this.
The keyboard and touchpad are also great. The keyboard takes a little time to get used to, however, the touchpad needs no learning curve. In fact, I love it so much that while I have an external mouse, I do not even use it.
I am not the only person that likes this computer. Any of my friends that have the same computer has equal words of praise. I do not think you can go wrong with this machine.
