This is by far the best laptop I have ever owned. The 15" display is wonderful - no need to hook up to a monitor. The machine is very fast and the 128MBs of RAM allows me to open a number of applications at the same time. I tend to take my laptop home with me very frequently and had problems with the DELL Latitude. The Inspiron seems to be much sturdier. A huge improvement for me is the battery life. My battery on the Latitude would only last 30 minutes if I was lucky. The Inspiron lasts up to two hours. (I still carry a spare.)
On the negative. The machine is heavy. While I don't find this to be much of a problem, some women in the office find the machine to be very cumbersome. While the machine is fast, it takes over two minutes to startup. (I do have anti-virus software running but nothing else in startup). Standby does not work properly. My machine often freezes on standby.
All in all, the pros far outweigh the cons. If you don't mind the weight, this is a great machine.
