Patience Doesn't Always Pay

I have been a member of Greenfield Online since November 1999. During the subsequent five months, I have completed dozens of surveys. Greenfield Online offers the opportunity for consumers to help shape marketing, and offers the added attraction of monetary compensation. However, I would like to know who is getting paid...because it hasn't been me. I have not made a penny during the past five months on this website.
If you like having a voice (as a consumer) and don't want compensation for your time, then Greenfield Online might be right for you. However, there are many other websites that offer you the opportunity to shape marketing (including Epinions), while compensating you for your time. By far, Epinions leads the field in this category, which makes sense, since Epinions requires greater input.
It is simple to register for Greenfield Online, and the format is user friendly. There are normally several surveys available to take at your leisure...some of the other survey sites (such as NPDOR and American Consumer Opinions) notify you when they have a survey that they want you to complete. Each survey that you complete offers an entry into a drawing to win one of several monetary prizes. These prizes always seem to elude me.
The other way to make money on Greenfield Online is by participating in on-line focus groups. However, you have to be selected to participate in these discussion groups that often pay fifty to one hundred dollars per session. The discussion groups are set at a specific time, in advance. I figure that I must belong to an over-representative demographic group, due to my lack of notification regarding these discussion groups.
People in uncommon internet demographic groups might have better luck making money on this website, because they will have a greater chance of participating in the discussion groups, which is where the money is. If you're looking to make money off the surveys, don't hold your breath, in five months, I haven't made any.
