I bought my first computer in mid-1994. By 1999, it was MORE than outdated. I shopped the major brands, including Gateway, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, and Compaq. I was on a tight budget, but needed to make sure I purchased a computer that would no be obsolete in a matter of months. I needed certain features, for work, school, and fun.
I compared features and price of the major brands. On an impulse, I purchased my Compaq at a major warehouse store, because I just couldn't beat the price! It came with everything I needed, wanted, and with even a few extras!
I had a software problem (of my own making) immediately, and called their customer service department and was VERY impressed with how they helped me. They were responsive, courteous, professional, and accurate.
Shortly thereafter, I had a monitor problem. Once again, I called the service department, and the problem (due to a recall), was handled in LESS than 2 minutes!! They shipped a new monitor right away, and I simply had to put my old one in the box and call for pickup...no hassles and no problems since!
I am certainly not sorry I chose Compaq!
