Yahoo - My Top Free Email!Sep 18 '00 Write an essay on this topic.I've used and tried out several free web-based email providers. I've used Hotmail, Netaddress, Mail.com, etc. My all time favorite is Yahoo! There are several reasons for Yahoo being my free web-based email provider of choice. The first and main reason is SPEED!! Yahoo email is the fastest web-based email client I've ever used. There is not a lot of clutter and huge graphics that takes huge amount of time to download via my 28.8 internet connection. I'm sure Yahoo has huge servers to parse pages, which also helps. The next reason for choosing Yahoo is POP3 access. I can use Outlook Express to retrieve my Yahoo email and read it offline when I have time. The only other free web-based site that does that is Hotmail, and it's method is slow and is not as efficient as Yahoo's. This is very convenient if you usually read your email at one machine. But, the option to read online is there with the FAST web-based client. Another reason for choosing Yahoo is the size of the mailbox. Most free email providers give you 2, 3, and maybe 5 meg of mailbox space. Not Yahoo - you get 6 meg free!! The others charge money for that much!! My final reason for choosing Yahoo was the Yahoo Messenger. I can leave the Messenger running and it will notify my when I have new email. That can also be done with Hotmail and MSN messenger, but the Yahoo messenger is much more appealing to me. And there you have it - my account of the best free web-based email client. Yahoo!!  |
